Dave The Dino Slayer: Chapter 8
Chapter 8 from DAVEY B AKA THE ULTIMATE AKA DOUBLE X online series DAVE THE DINO SLAYER
Chapter 8
Dave lay back in his comfortable cave bed after a night of awesome cave sex. The cave babe’s awesome bosoms had helped to clear his mind and ease his fears. She nestled her head on his chiseled chest.

“That was awesome,” she said with a satisfied sigh.
“Totally awesome,” said Dave.
Dave had said flattering things like this to women before, but this time, he truly meant it. It was awesome. He thought deep down about this revelation.
“I know I just met you,” he said softly, “but I can’t help but feel like I’ve known you for a long time.”
She smiled at this.
“I think this could be the start of something awesome,” he said as he drifted off into a post-sex slumber.

When he awoke the next morning, the cave babe was gone. He walked through his lair, expecting to see her at any moment, but she was nowhere to be found.
“Xavier, have you seen the cave babe?” Dave asked his spear.
“Not since she snuck out early this morning,” Xavier replied.
Dave sighed and walked over to his coffee maker.
“What’s wrong?” asked Xavier.
“Oh nothing,” Dave said as he poured himself a fresh cup of prehistoric coffee, “I just thought I might really like this one.”
He looked around his cave.
“Where’s Vivian?”
“She’s training outside,” replied Xavier. “Although I’d hardly call it training. More like running around aimlessly.”
“Nobody like’s a jealous talking spear, Xavier” Dave scolded his friend. “I want you two to get along.”
“I know” Xavier said, “But I just can’t help but think this is going to come back and bite us in the ass. It’s not a good idea to keep a dino around, especially in your line of work.”
“Dammit, Xavier! I’m sick and tired of your negativity!” Dave raged “I don’t need this right now!” He grabbed a sabertooth pelt, slung it over his shoulders, and stormed towards the door.

“Where are you going?” Xavier asked.
“OUT!” snapped Dave as he fumed out of the cave leaving Xavier alone in his thoughts.

It was colder outside than Dave had anticipated. He wrapped the saber tooth pelt tighter around himself as he ventured out to find Vivian.
‘Where could she have gone?’ Dave wondered. He shook the negative thoughts from his mind and proceeded farther away from his cave.
“Vivian!” Dave called out. “Where’d you go, girl? You know you’re not supposed to get too far away from the cave!”
There was no response.
“Vivian! I mean it!”
Still nothing. Dave began to worry. He continued to venture out, clinging to his pelt.
WHOOMP. A strong, rock-like tail connected against Dave’s ribs, sending him flying. He landed, the air knocked out of him. As he struggled to catch his breath, he realized he had walked into the nest of an overprotective Ankylosaurus! Dave had let his guard down and now suffered for it. He looked at his side, which was now gushing blood. The beast used the blunt end of its’ tail as a weapon.
Dave struggled to get to his feet. He knew bones were broken. Before he could fully stand, the ankylosaurus connected with another crushing blow of the tail, this time hitting Dave full on in the stomach, flinging him into a nearby tree with a loud CRACK.
“Don’t make me fight you, Ankylosaur. My fight is not with you right now.” Dave was barely able to spit out the words.
The dinosaur continued with his attack. This time Dave was barely able to avoid another collision with the tail by ducking under it just in time.

Dave was losing a lot of blood. He could feel himself weakening. At least two of his ribs were crushed, and he was fairly certain of internal bleeding. He had to act fast, before he was too weak to fight.
He was able to jump over another swing of the deadly tail. Luckily for Dave, each swing was so powerful, the force often spun the dinosaur away from our hero and Dave had noticed this. He needed to use this flaw as an opportunity, and so he waited in anticipation for the next attack.
Our hero knew he had only one chance for his plan to work, as his vision had began to blur and he felt himself growing weaker by the minute.
The creature approached Dave slowly, backing him into the tree he had struck earlier. Dave knew that one slip on his part would result in a crushing death, but he had a plan.
The Ankylosaurus swung its’ tail back, preparing for the final blow. Dave felt the tree against his back. He was trapped.
‘This is it,’ Dave thought, as he got ready for what was coming.
The creature swung its’ tail with full force at our hero. With his last remaining strength, Dave dove over the tail, letting it collide with the tree. The force of the tail managed to split the tree at the place of impact. Dave delivered a well placed side-kick to the tree, sending it crashing down atop the dinosaur, crushing it instantly.
Dave stood for a moment, holding his side.
‘Must make it back to the cave’ He thought.
He took a step, but had lost too much blood. Dave collapsed to the ground, and could not muster up the strength to move.
As he lay on the ground, bleeding, everything started to go black.
