Plies' Best Of 2008: Hip-Hop
To end my mandatory year-end list-off I asked the goon Plies to hit me with his favorite hip-hop tracks of 2008, and boy was he excited. He said he couldn’t possibly put these songs in order the way that I did with my favorite non hip-hop tracks of the year, so he just scattered them across 3 discs of hip-hop brilliance. He was also very humble in not including any of his hits off of...
Foo Fighters: Big Me
So I wanted to post this video for the song “Big Me” because it’s really sharp. Yet embedding is disabled by request on the Tube, so I had to wander over to MTVmusic.com to get it. Luckily MTV music is a fairly awesome site that has a ton of videos to embed, sadly a lot of my readers have complained that the MTV videos don’t play so smoothly on my...
Guest Poem: The Sammer
The Sammer is a mystery. A mysteriously awesome poet who shrouds his identity behind the larger than life persona of a half MC Hammer half Sam Waterston guise. Whereas most poets are too fat or too old to take on the topics that really speak to us modern Americans, The Sammer’s only boundaries in prose are self-inflicted, and those boundaries don’t even exist. Like a back country...

Top NHH Albums Of 2008
And here is my list to go along with my favorite hip-hop albums of 2008. Again, I’m not privy to listening to every single album that comes out all year, so I’m sure there is a lot of great music I didn’t get to hear. If anyone has any suggestions, hit the comments.

Best Hip Hop Albums Of 2008
Now I’m no music critic so it’s not like I listen to EVERY single album every year. However, I try my best to listen to most releases, especially when it comes to hip-hop music. In my belief, a great hip-hop album is rarely as prevalent as great hip-hop singles, I mean there are a ton of bad albums that came out this year that still had great tracks. A great hip-hop album has to...

All these lists are exhausting
I feel like I won’t really be squeezing the JOOSE out of 2008 unless I commit to memory all these lists.
All The Lists! (Except Mine)
So mannyyy lists. But I’ve learned a lot.
Also, I disagree with MAD magazine. Palin got a bad rap cause she was the dumbest Vice President of all time, but she’s probably pretty witty. The real dumb dumb of the year would have to be the...
Exile is much better than I at playing with MPC’s. Sophomore year this dorm room chum of mine had an MPC and I once tried to mix up “How The Rhinoceros Got His Skin” as read by Jack Nicholson with the “Linus and Lucy” piano roll and the drums from an instructional jazz drumming record. It made me sad/peeved that I couldn’t do it. I think Exile could.

A Double X Christmas
Y’all know Double X right? He lives high above New York City, casting rap songs down to the blind and bougie who must kneel to his every wish and command. Around XXmas time he gets a wee bit sentimental though, you know, for Jesus, and drops some holiday raps to help us believe in the season. Thanks XX.
